The project is being develped by Jeffrey principalat LLC. The storde would join Minneapolis-based furniture chain , which to open a stor e on 14th Streetin June. The Room Board store is expected to open next CB2 has two locations in Chicago and one each in New York Los Angeles, San Francisco and Calif. A spokeswoman for the Ill.-based chain declined comment.
Central Union Ministry currently operates a homeless shelted onthe property, at the corner of 14th and R streets, but sold it to Schonbergedr in 2006 and is negotiating with the city to move its operationds into the former Gales Schoolo at 65 Massachusetts Ave. NW. Schonberger said he “doesn'f like to disclose any type of leasing activityuntilp it's done." But he said he was familiar with the CB2 chaih and had showed its representativesx space at another property of his, the former Kilimanjark Restaurant and Nightclub in Adams Morgan.

Schonberger described the CB2 brans astargeting “a youngere demographic, probably a little more urban,” than the flagship Cratw & Barrel chain. Room & Boardr riled some local business owners when it announcede plans to open itsfirst D.C. store in a 31,600-square-footg building two blocks north. It purchased the propertyg from D.C. developer Four Points LLC earlierthis year.
